Sometimes visitors to our site are worried when they do not see the HTTPS or lock symbol indicating the website is secured for online transactions.  It's still safe to place your order. Here's why:

The HTTPS or the lock symbol usually means the site uses something called SSL to secure sensitive information the site may collect. Usually this is related to online payments or account login information, and it's a good idea to have it. Encrypted information that is intercepted or stolen is useless unless it can be decrypted. SSL is a great tool, but this site uses its own encryption to store data and to access stored account data.

So why don't we use SSL? Because there are basically two types. One is aimed at securing site data such as user information, logins and user accounts, which we basically already have via the host's encryption. The other is used to secure online financial transactions which we don't need because PayPal covers that for us. By the way, your PayPal logins are NOT stored on our site. They are kept secured by PayPal.

We don't process any payments on this site. No no credit card data is collected by 6060eyes.com. All monetary transactions flow through PayPal, which means you must have a PayPal account (free) and login to it to complete your purchase. Once you login to PayPal, you ARE on a secured HTTPS site. Then, and only then, will any sensitive credit card information be requested to complete your purchase. Your credit card data is therefore secured. So is any information passed between our site to Paypal's, but we don't really exchange any senisitive data with PayPal anyway. We do NOT store PayPal login data on our site so we don't have to pass that data to PayPal and risk having someone hack it in transit.  But what about the data collected by our site when you register or place an order? Good question!

This website does collect (optionally) user account information, such as a name, email address and a password for people who wish to register a user profile for our site. It is possible under some circumstances for a hacker to intercept this information as you first create your account or when you login to your account to place an order. They could possibly obtain enough information to login to our site as you.  We're not sure what advantage a hacker would gain from stealing this data--most of it would be publically accessible in a phone book. Stealing your 6060eyes.com password enables little more than placing an order on our site that they would have no method of paying for--nor could they obligate you to pay for it.  Be sure your 6060eyes.com password is a unique password and not a copy of one used elsewhere--especially the one used for PayPal. That way if it is somehow stolen the theif can't really do anything with it.
